Set in the heart of Winterberg, St. Georg Sprungschanze offers an accessible ski resort experience perfect for beginners and families alike. Its pistes are well-maintained but relatively short, making it ideal for those new to skiing or looking for a relaxed day on the slopes. Visitors can take advantage of onsite amenities including a cozy restaurant known for its good food despite peak-time crowds and a convenient bar.
Beyond skiing, there is a variety of family-friendly attractions such as an alpine slide, zip line, and playground, ensuring entertainment for all ages. The panoramic views from the top of the ski jump are a highlight, providing sweeping perspectives of the surrounding forested landscape. Note that weekends and school holidays tend to draw larger crowds, and ski pass sales are not capped, so visiting midweek is recommended for a quieter experience.
While the ski lift system requires a ski pass, connecting different slopes, this layout encourages active movement between points, adding to the authentic alpine adventure. Overall, the resort presents a charming, compact outdoor escape with both activity and rest areas, easily combining scenic beauty with practical amenities.

“Nice aim for work from the city and back through the forest.”
“Mini ski resort for beginners. Pistes are in good condition but very short for experienced skiers. In the weekends and especially during official Dutch vacation periods way too crowded. There seems to be no limit on sold number of ski passes so avoid during that time.”
“Nice place to visit with family is there a lots of atractions.”
“We enjoyed our visit to this spot for skiing. You actually have to take skiing pass to get into the skylift. You can’t just take skylift passes as you have to ski between the skylift points. It’s a nice experience”
“You have a great panaoramic view from up top. Also, the restaurant there is really crowded but the food is really good and serving is awesome. Must be on your to see list if visiting Winterberg”
